► Summary of the article: In the Church of San Carlo in the town of Noto, in Sicily, a group of statues brings together Justice, holding the scales, her eyes unbandaged, who looks straight ahead at the statue of Prudence, bending towards a child who looks up at her. On either side of Justice stand Fortitude, with an eagle at her feet, and Temperance, carrying a very heavy bag.

To contemplate the four virtues, which support one another, one must first climb the many steps leading to the building and then, once inside, take the time to look up, for they have been placed high above, far from the noise of passers-by.
